About Movement Intelligence
Movement Intelligence was developed by one of Moshe Feldenkrais' foremost students, Dr. Ruthy Alon, who was a master trainer in the Feldenkrais Method.
Movement Intelligence programs are designed to address the increasing problem of posture, flexibility, bone health, vitality, and more alarmingly the decreased ability to enjoy movement in life especially the joy of walking.

Too often after the stresses and strains we begin to rely upon idiosyncratic patterns that restrict our freedom to move.
What to do? Our compass needs to be reset, or recalibrated. Not that we knowingly find a “right” way, and exchange one habit for another. But what if we could move with the freedom of a cat getting ready to jump, a giraffe stretching high, an elephant shifting his weight, or a kangaroo bounding? They know how to move without conscious pre-planning, interference or manipulation.
Our bodies can learn the grace of movement, without the need to force itself into new habits, or push into new patterns. Instead, we allow the body to recover its own native intelligence.
The result is freedom to move in ways you may not have imagined.

How I work
Together, we will create an agenda for our sessions based on what you need on a given day. I rely on my intuition and experience in choosing what direction to go in.
My mottos are:
"Pain equals no gain." If there’s any pain, we stop and change gears. If what I’m doing or teaching is causing pain, you start resisting rather than receiving.
"Less is more." Maybe you’ve heard this philosophy but don’t quite know how to put it into practice? I'll teach you, so you can experience for yourself how little you have to do to experience more freedom in your movements. Clients have shared comments like, “Holy cow! this is magic!."
“No efforting." The majority of humans push their way through. Yet, when you’re efforting, you stop listening. Very subtle movements can bring lasting changes.
Through individual study or in classes. I'll teach you a new way to move with improved alignment, grace, stability and at the same time strengthen your bones and reduce the discomfort accumulated over the years.
